About the Event

Meet us at Manifest House for PART TWO of our summer Book Club discussion on Know My Name: A Memoir by Chanel Miller. Join us as we witness Chanel's powerful story of reclamation together, in community and sisterhood.

On August 26th we'll meet one final time to discuss Chapter 8 through the end of the book. Please join us even if you haven't read that far, or weren't able to join the first discussion group! Discussion questions to guide the conversation will be provided beforehand in our private membership Forum, however no prior preparation is required.

Content Warning: Due to the nature of this memoir, there will be mention and discussion of sexual assault, trauma, and the criminal justice system. We recognize this is a sensitive topic and will do everything in our power to facilitate a safe space. Taking part in the discussion is not mandatory - if you just want to listen, that's perfectly okay too!

In an effort to create a safe space for vulnerable discussion, this is a members-only event and it will not be recorded. You are welcome to join our community membership and attend this event. Plans start at just just $29/month and get your first week completely free.

About the Book:

Universally acclaimed, rapturously reviewed, and an instant New York Times bestseller, Chanel Miller’s breathtaking memoir “gives readers the privilege of knowing her not just as Emily Doe, but as Chanel Miller the writer, the artist, the survivor, the fighter.” (The Wrap). Her story of trauma and transcendence illuminates a culture biased to protect perpetrators, indicting a criminal justice system designed to fail the most vulnerable, and, ultimately, shining with the courage required to move through suffering and live a full and beautiful life.

Know My Name will forever transform the way we think about sexual assault, challenging our beliefs about what is acceptable and speaking truth to the tumultuous reality of healing. Entwining pain, resilience, and humor, this memoir will stand as a modern classic.
